1. Warok
Warok may be a little strange to hear this title, the word "warok" itself comes from the word "wewarah" which means people who have a holy determination, provide protection, and demand sincerely without strings attached.
In the Reog Ponorogo dance art, Warok is described as someone who has mastered both inner and outer knowledge and has the characteristics of wearing an all-black costume.
2. Jathil
In the beginning, the jathil dance was danced by a man who was fine, handsome or like a beautiful woman called gemblak.
However, nowadays jathil is danced by women to make it more feminine and have freedom.
This dance figure, who is performed with expressions of enthusiasm and pairing with each other, depicts the dexterity of horsemen while practicing.
The uniqueness of the jathil dancers lies in the property of the horse used and the movements that are dexterous, agile, and also smooth.
3. Klono Sewandono
The figure of Klono Sewandono is described as a powerful king who has the heirloom of the Pecut Samandiman.
King Klono's prowess is illustrated by his agile and very dignified dance movements.
In addition, because according to the story he creates beautiful art to fulfill the request of his lover, his dance also sometimes depicts someone who is in love.
The characteristics of this dancer are using a red mask with various decorative patterns.
4. Bujang Ganong ( Ganongan )
From several dances in reog ponorogo, Bujang Ganong's performance is one of the most awaited by the audience during the stage.
This is because the dance movements are energetic, funny, and there are elements of martial arts that represent the characters of young patih figures who are nimble, clever, witty, powerful, and strong-willed.
An ugly figure of a young patih is depicted with a dancer wearing a mask of bright red dadap wood with bulging eyes, protruding teeth, and a large nose, complete with hair made of a ponytail.
